FAQ

Short answers to common questions new C2 users ask.

Why Can I Open A Page But Still Not Change It?

Opening a page and changing it are not always the same thing. You may be allowed to look at something, but not edit it.

If that happens, check whether your role is meant to edit that area or only view it.

Why Do Some Things Need Extra Access?

Some tasks affect more people than others. Changing a role, publishing an event, or updating a submission can impact the whole community, so C2 keeps those actions more tightly controlled.

Why Do Drafts Have Separate Access?

Drafts are unfinished by definition. C2 separates them so people who only need to view published work do not also see unfinished items.

Why Might An Integration Stop Working Suddenly?

Usually because something in its setup changed. Common causes are a disabled feature, a changed role, or an integration trying to do a task it is no longer allowed to do.

Why Do I Need To Refresh Before I See Changes?

Some parts of C2 update immediately, but others are easier to understand after a refresh. If something looks out of date, reload the page and check again.

Where Can I See Who Changed A Profile?

Open the profile and check the logs section. That is where staff changes are recorded for later review.

How Do I Know What Roles A Person Should Have?

Think about the work they actually do.

  • If they help with events, give them event-related access.
  • If they manage people, give them profile-related access.
  • If they only need to review information, keep their access limited.

What Is The Safest Way To Start?

Start small.

  1. Give a person the minimum access they need.
  2. Ask them to try their normal tasks.
  3. Add more access only if a real task is blocked.
